I hosted my husband’s grandparents this weekend for dinner, and unsurprisingly conversation eventually turned to my food challenges.  For the first time I was asked “what can you eat?” in a serious voice.  Not the incredulous, semi-insulting “gee, what can you eat?”, but a genuine “we know what you can’t eat, but what can you eat?”  They wanted to know what products I use when I cook.  How they could host me for dinner.

Thus the new menu item: shopping.  This section will be all about products that I buy to accommodate my allergies.  What I use every day, what I buy as a treat and brands that I favor.  Everything from my butter substitute to my favorite non-dairy ice cream.
